Located in the North of Gran Canaria up to 3600 m of depth in the Atlantic Ocean, the\u00a0ESTOC<\/strong>\u00a0(European Station for Time series in the Ocean<\/strong>) has been monitoring the ocean for 25 years, contributing to many international programmes related to the ocean observation.<\/p>\n

It monitors meteorological, physical and biogeochemical data that are highly relevant with reference to the studies on the impact of the climate change, a topic that has becoming more and more relevant: international organizations are continuously asking for a global and stable ocean observation, both in the ocean surface and in the water column.<\/p>\n

Resinex has played a role in this important project thanks to its long experience as a manufacturer of floats for deepwater applications: 2\u00a0subsurface buoys<\/strong>\u00a0rated to a depth of 500 m and 2\u00a0ultra-deepwater buoys<\/strong>\u00a0rated to a depth of 3700 m, with a net buoyancy of 200\/225 kg and\u00a0filled with syntactic foam<\/strong>, were supplied to\u00a0Plocan<\/strong>\u00a0(Plataforma Oce\u00e1nica de Canarias<\/strong>\u00a0– The Oceanic Platform of the Canary Islands), the scientific infrastructure in charge with the project, between 2018 and 2019.<\/p>\n

They are now part of the\u00a0deep ocean mooring system<\/strong>\u00a0operated by Plocan at the ESTOC observatory.<\/p>\n<\/div>
