Anti-intrusion barriers Lithuania

In 2015 Resinex supplied anti-intrusion barriers to the Lithuanian operator Klaipedos Nafta for the delimitation of the area around the FSRU Indipendence tanker.

In 2015 Resinex supplied anti-intrusion barriers to the Lithuanian operator Klaipedos Nafta to demarcate the area around the LNG carrier FSRU Indipendence (Floating Storage and Regasification Unit), situated in the port of Klaipeda in Lithuania.
The barrier provided by Resinex for this project, is composed of an uninterrupted system of 500 spherical buoys linked through wire cables and plastic tie-rods.
Its main feature is to be visible in the water and in addition to signal the inaccessibility  of the site, it has a deterrent function against intrusion attempts.
Visibility is very high also thanks to the supply of 11 light buoys distributed along the barrier sections.

Vessel FSRU Indipendence imports LNG (liquefied natural gas) and is able to contain 170.000 m3 of natural gas, covering the needs of the whole country.

The terminal started operating on 3 December 2014 and during January 2016 LNG terminal regasified and supplied 1.071 thousand MWh of natural gas to the Lithuanian transmission system, up by 112.1% compared to January 2015.
At the 8th European Gas Conference 2015 in Vienna, Klaipeda LNG FSRU won the Project of the Year award.
